My Chat with Uncle Colin

For the last 7-8 years, I have made it point to regularly listen to Colin Cowherd’s show, The Herd, on ESPN Radio every chance I get.  I started listening when I worked for Coca-Cola and spent numerous hours driving.  He was always my favorite to listen to and I felt like he was somewhat much like myself.  (If you know me and you listen to his show, you’ll probably understand what I mean.)

Anyway, Friday, May 18th, 2012 I was somewhere between Elizabethtown and Bowling Green headed to film part of a music video for Blues Traveler for director Bill Fishman.  Jacob Ennis and I were listening to The Herd when I decided that I was going to call in.  The topic was about the Indiana Pacer fans saying they love their team (though they had the worst attendance in the NBA) and how they didn’t need a star i.e like LeBron or Kobe.

Keep in mind this is the home of Peyton Manning…

I called in, soon after Colin ranted on about how if we didn’t love stars we wouldn’t watch, we wouldn’t keep up with in the papers, and how people on social networks wouldn’t “like”, “tag”, and request “retweets.”  My point was, people who (not finished)
